The 2026 World Series starts tonight, as the Toronto Blue Jays host the Los Angeles Dodgers. Former National Alex Call will play for the Dodgers and former ace Max Scherzer likely will pitch for the Blue Jays. (Early reports have him facing Ohtani in game 4 of the Series).
Wish the Nationals were in it but we do have two players competing for post-season awards — Jacob Young is a Gold Glove Award Nominee while James Wood is a Silver Slugger Award Finalist. Well deserved accolades and good luck to them both.
Guess who is now Anthony Rendon’s skipper? None other than Kurt Suzuki. The Angels have hired him to be the next team coach.
Did you see what Ohtani did in the last game of the NLCS? Commentators are calling it the greatest game of baseball ever played. Well, he pitched and he hit. He pitched six shut out innings, striking out 10 batters. And, he hit three home runs!! Can you say Babe Ruth? Maybe he is not quite to that level yet but, if not, he’s getting there.
Have you heard about Trey Yesavage? He played baseball at East Carolina University. He’s a rookie. He had his first start in Single-A on April 8 of this year. His first start at the Show was on September 15. Less. Than. Six. Weeks. Ago!!! He is the starting pitcher for the Blue Jays tonight in the first game of the 2026 World Series. Best of luck to Trey on what may be the most exciting night of his life.
Enjoy October baseball while it lasts.
